DNR Energy Grants and Rebates

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has administered more than $57 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to implement energy efficiency initiatives throughout the state. The majority of funds have been distributed, but you can follow this link to a summary of Missouri's renewable energy incentives:

Sales Tax Holiday for Appliances

Between April 19 and 25, 2011, you won't have to pay the state sales tax when you buy qualifying Energy Star appliances. Given the high cost of some appliances, it's money in your pocket to buy appliances during this window. The savings apply to:

  • Clothes washers
  • Water heaters
  • Dishwashers
  • Air conditioners
  • furnaces
  • Refrigerators and freezers

Your city, county or district also may choose to observe the sales tax holiday.

Clothes dryers; trash compactors; and conventional ovens, ranges and stoves qualify for the sales tax, but they are not rated under Energy Star.
